Claude Thomassin, c. 1920

Thomassin apprenticed with Charles Nicholas Bazin in Mirecourt before moving to Paris to work for the firm of Gand & Bernardel. His overall output may be described as being on the flexible side of the spectrum; however, this bow is a particularly robust example of Thomassin's work. It is strong yet forgiving - creating a supple, brilliant tone, particularly crisp spiccatto, and excellent control.
