Silvestre & Maucotel, Paris, 1911

This fine violin is a copy of the "Messiah" Stradivarius. Like the "Messiah," it remains in a pristine state of preservation, with the only sign of age being the light craquelure that has formed in the varnish, which is a typical feature of French violins of the period. The black ink on the scroll chamfers looks as if it was just applied yesterday.

It has a powerful with a brilliant top and a husky bass.

Accompanied with certificates of authenticity by Bernard Millant and Kenneth Warren and Son.

Price range: $25k-$50k
